Set 12 years after the second Huffman conflict, the story follows Ash and his allies as they confront the upheaval in the People's Republic of Alordesh. In June 2102, soldiers led by Ven Mackarge declare independence from the O.C.U., and Ash survives a brutal battle only to find Alordesh overrun by the Revolutionary Army. As Ash and surviving teammates navigate Alordesh's underground, they uncover a large conspiracy while the perspective shifts between three characters: Ash, Lisa, and Thomas.

FRONT MISSION 2: Remake preserves the mature story, strategic turn-based combat, and Wanzer customization of the original while adding updated visuals and modern enhancements. The remake includes improved loading speed, support for many new languages, a new free camera option to zoom in during gameplay, new coloring and camouflage options, modern in-game effects, and a renewed soundtrack.
