Shredfest II: The Guitar Hero Smash Hits Duos Throwdown!

Calling all plastic guitar legends! It’s time to shred, slap, and tap your way to the top. Just Press Play is hosting a massive Guitar Hero Smash Hits Duos Tournament at The JPP PlaySpace!

Whether you’re a master of the fretboard or a titan of the bass, grab a partner and get ready to face off in the ultimate battle of the bands. We’re doubling the competition and doubling the prizes—do you have what it takes to take home the gold?

Event Details

• Date: April 4, 2026
• Game: Guitar Hero Smash Hits for Nintendo Wii (played on Wii U)
• Max Players: 32 (16 teams of 2)
• Entry Fee: $40 per team ($20 per player)
• Format: Single Elimination Bracket

The Rules of the Road

Form Your Duo: Teams consist of two players: one on Guitar and one on Bass.

The Bracket: Teams will be randomly assigned to a single-elimination bracket.

The Setlist: 

• Round 1: Randomly assigned song from Venues 1-3.
• Round 2: Randomly assigned song from Venues 4-6.
• Round 3 / 3rd Place Playoff: Randomly assigned song from Venue 7 (excluding "Free Bird").

Difficulty: Players choose their own difficulty (Minimum: Medium). The higher the difficulty, the more points you have the chance to score!

Scoring: Teams play the entire song one at a time. The duo with the highest score moves on.

The Grand Finale: The final two teams will face the ultimate test. Both teams must play “Free Bird” and “Through the Fire and Flames” on Expert difficulty. The duo with the highest combined score across both songs will be crowned the champions!

The Loot (Prizing)
Everyone walks away with a prize! All winnings are issued as Just Press Play Gift Cards:

1st Place: $150 (Split between players)

2nd Place: $100 (Split between players)

3rd Place: $75 (Split between players)

4th Place: $50 (Split between players)

All Other Participants: $20 per team just for competing!

Bonus Best-Dressed Award: An additional $50 JPP Gift Card will be awarded to the best-dressed duo!

Equipment: We will have multiple Wii Guitars available to use, but players are also welcome to bring their own.
